Budding Bulawayo Hip Hop artiste Frank Takunda Chirisa who is better known as Frixx, has dropped a new EP titled New Moon and it is laden with motivational and inspirational messages.
Frixx, who is a member of ExcelLence Music Records is a multitalented artiste who uses Zimbabwe’s three most used languages; English, Shona and Ndebele in his music.
New Moon is stacked with 8 songs that have a unique numbering which starts from Track Zero. The EP has no features, and we might be having our own Zimbabwean version of J.Cole.
The EP also features samples from the Zimbabwe National Anthem, Excellence’s late member Lorbee J & a few others.
Themed on “Hope”, Frixx delves into the societal issues that are affecting people in their daily lives, with poverty and nepotism being among them.
Inspired by his deteriorating society, Frixx also used his experiences as a teenager and these include heartbreaks and betrayals.
Outstanding songs on the EP include New Moon, Njodzi, Go, Baleka and Zimbabwe.
Frixx’s new project holds a mirror to our world as he addresses some of the societal issues that are faced by people everyday.
His sound resonates with all Hip Hop lovers as he uses a mixture of Old School rap & New Age Trap in his EP.
The EP was produced by KoKo who has single handedly produced 1 Album, 4 EPs and 9 singles this year.
