Man of the moment Enzo Ishall struck the right chords by silencing critics who labelled him ‘a one hit wonder’ after he released his latest offering, a video titled Matsimba.
The song was produced by Cymplex and the video was shot and directed Stan Joni.
Enzo sends people on an emotional rollercoaster with a well mastered and exciting song that will leave you feeling some type of way.
Matsimba is a song about a girl who is living in the rural areas and is abused everyday. She is taken by her aunt to go and live in the city and she finds the situation even worse as the aunt’s husband rapes her and the aunt tells her to keep quiet about the issue.
The song has a catchy chorus and will stick into your head upon listening for the first time.
Considering Enzo is known for his humorous songs, the substance in this song is evidence that the Kanjiva hitmaker is a complete package and he is here to stay.
Stan Joni did justice with the video as he came up with a very touching script. The video stares familiar faces from the Zimbabwean showbiz and they include Stewart Sakarombe and Chiedza Chinyowa.
The song comes at a time when there is an annual campaign of 16 Day of Activism against Gender-Based Violence. The campaign runs every year from 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, to 10 December, Human Rights Day.
