South African rapper Emtee proved why he is rated amongst Africa’s finest after he staged a thrilling performance at Shoko Festival on Friday night.
Even though the concert was not full to capacity, artistes who performed gave top performances worth the entry fee.
Artistes that performed on the Hip Hop night before Emtee include; Ti Gonzi, Guluva 7, Tulk Munny and Cal Vin and they all did not disappoint.
Emtee who came late in the middle of the night gave a dazzling performance which got fans singing along to most of his fans.
In the midst of his performance, Emtee interacted with the fans and he even got a Zimbabwean flag from a fan and he hung it around his neck during his rest of his performance.
“Thank you for coming out in your numbers, I never knew there was so much love for me in Zimbabwe, this is my first time here”, he yelled.
The rapper kept fans on their feet as he belted some of his hits and among them roll up, winning, Ghetto hero and corner store.
It was the song Pearl Thusi that the fans requested as he was about to go off stage and he had to come back and dish it out as people sang along to the song.
When asked about his genre ealier during his press conference, Emtee said he does African Trap Music.
“I do African trap, something that I started, I talk about the reality of or lives in Africa, especially Southern Africa”, he said.
The Mzansi star said that Jah Prayzah was his favourite Zimbabwean artiste when he was asked about any Zimbabwean Hip Hop artiste he liked.
“You know, my favourite Zimbabwean artiste is not Hip Hop actually, I like Jah Prayzah”, he said.
