Blacperl resurfaces with a king status

If you thought the flames had died down under the flame-grilled ‘beef’ between Blacperl and Keep It Real Fridays hosts, think again.

Blacperl who had taken a two year hiatus is back and her first track which is titled ‘King Status’, a diss targeted at KIRF’s host Seletine.

The whole fracas started sometime back when Seletine questioned Blacperl’s Zim Hip Hop queen’s status and now the rapper has replied purporting that she’s no longer on the level of being compared to queens but rather kings.

The rapper said that the reasons why she is now a king are that at 17yrs old she cyphered with the likes of Alkanemo and Maskiri, at 19 she shared the main stage with Cassper Nyovest and at 20 she won the best female Zim Hip Hop award.

Blacperl also shot daggers at other female rappers when she said “Female rap yaacompetition yekubvisa hembe.” Lol do you know who that is though?

There were many bars reserved for Seletine.

“Udzai that podcaster kuti akaramba achanditaura/ achaona mota dzisina maplates semumba mebhachura/ You sell-a-tiny (Seletine) gossip in your Cash bid still/ Handimirire Friday to keep it real.”

The song is laden with bars for days, the metaphors, similes, you name it. However, for a diss track I feel like it lacks the energy and anger in her delivery. The hook was perfectly put out.

Blacperl mentioned that the song marks her return and in the next four weeks she will be dropping new singles and then a new video.

However, is it a noble (not Stylz) idea to come back in the game with a diss? Please tell us what you think.

When contacted for a comment, Keep It Real Fridays’ host Seletine was offline until the time of this publication. Listen to the track below.
