It is against this background that the Becky Foundation aims at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which are recognised globally and are regarded as essential to the future sustainability of
our world.

In that light, the official launch has been slated for Matobo district in Matabeleland South province of Zimbabwe in August. Planned for the day is the handout of food hampers and sanitary pads to girls and
the elderly.

This is part of moving in to achieve SDG1-3 which are namely, (1) No Poverty, (2) Zero Hunger, (3) Good
Health and Well-being.

In her own words, Becky Casting Agency founder Bekezela “Becky” Dube who is also the founding director of Becky Foundation says she has worked so hard to be where she is and she thanks God for such a milestone achievement and that is why she has come up with an initiative where she would like to give back to the community starting with her rural community in Matobo and hopes to make this initiative an annual event were she will be going around different rural communities around Zimbabwe and South Africa giving to the less privileged.

In that manner, on the 21 st of August 2021, Becky is organising a charity event in Matobo, where she wants to
donate food hampers to the elderly and vulnerable girls who are also set to receive sanitary pads, a challenge
which has seen many drop out of school.

The day which is inspired by need to preserve one’s African roots, will have a strict dress code of
traditional wear and will have different traditional dance groups as part of the entertainment. We will also
have different Zimbabwean celebrities from all parts of the country as well as local traditional leaders
gracing the event.

Becky Foundation remains hopeful that the Covid-19 measures put in place by the Government of Zimbabwe will have eased in order for the event to be successfully held.

For now we urge fellow citizens not to let their guard down. All put on your masks, sanitise and maintain
social distancing. – Mthabisi Tshuma
